When Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing ventures to the Pacific Northwest, Trey Starks has made it known that the state of Washington runs through him; and it certainly did again on Friday night with $26,000 on the line in the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race.

The Puyallup, WA native, who has dominated Skagit Speedway throughout 2026 with 10 wins entering the weekend, enjoyed his latest conquest of the Alger, WA oval to become a three-time High Limit winner.

Driving his family-owned #55X, Starks bided his time while front row starters Max Mittry (laps 1-7) and Rico Abreu (laps 8-16) controlled the opening half of the feature. Taking advantage of a mid-race restart, Starks got wound up and completed a slide job for the lead on Lap 17 and never looked back.

The 30-year-old celebrated his third trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane in only 15 tries with the series – his first two wins coming at Grays Harbor Raceway and Skagit Speedway two years ago. Equalling Anthony Macri with a third win, Kyle Larson is now the only non-full-timer to score more High Limit wins (16) than Starks.

Banking a $26,000 payday, Starks added his name as the seventh to win the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race. He joins Tony Stewart (’19), Kyle Larson (’20), Zeb Wise (’21), Anthony Macri (’22), Rico Abreu (’23-24), and Travis Arenz (’25) as owners of an RRF guitar.

Chasing Starks to the stripe after leading nine laps was Rico Abreu aboard the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Waste Connections #24. The runner-up effort marked Rico’s seventh-straight podium at Skagit Speedway and extended his advantage to 41-points in the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing championship.

The final step of the podium belonged to Oregon’s Tanner Holmes, who continues to be one of the most beloved drivers by Skagit Speedway fans. His 7th-to-3rd surge in the late running made him the fourth and final driver to lock-in for Saturday’s $126,000-to-win finale of the Skagit Nationals – joining Starks, Abreu, and Thursday’s winner Tanner Thorson.

Closing out the top-five on Friday night was Tyler Courtney going 11th-to-4th aboard the Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink #7BC and Aaron Reutzel charging from 18th-to-5th in the Ridge & Sons Racing, PowerPlus #87.

Also in the top-10 of the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race was Thorson in sixth, Justin Sanders in seventh, Justin Peck in eighth, Chase Randall in ninth, and Levi Hillier of Rudeen Racing becoming the youngest top-10 finisher in series history.
