Brady Bacon will replace Kerry Madsen at Vermeer Motorsports to finish out the High Limit Racing season.
It was originally reported by Always Race Day that Madsen was out at Vermeer. The outlet reported, “Vermeer Motorsports has parted ways with Kerry Madsen.”

Live Dirt Updates then shared that Bacon would replace him, “Hearing Kerry Madsen is out and Brady Bacon is on at Vermeer Motorsports.”

High Limit Racing then confirmed it all. It announced, “‘The Macho Man’ will run the final 10 shows of the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing season for Vermeer Motorsports! The #55 team is currently five-points back of a critical P8 in the championship standings.”

In a press release, Vermeer Motorsports owner Tony Vermeer thanked Madsen, “We want to thank Kerry [Madsen] for the last three years, and thank our partners for being so dedicated as we do everything we can to build a successful team.”
“We’re pleased to have Brady Bacon join our program for the rest of the season. He brings a wealth of talent and knowledge and we’re excited to work together,” he added.
As noted by High Limit Racing, Vermeer Motorsports is currently 9th in the High Limit Racing Owner Standings, five points behind Buch Motorsports. The team is attempting to secure membership in the High Roller Club and in order to do so it has to finish 8th or better both this year and in 2027 or finish in the top three either this year or in 2027.
Madsen had one win, 6 top 5s and 21 Top 10s with Vermeer in 43 feature starts with High Limit Racing. His lone win came at Lucas Oil Speedway back in the middle of April.
The move to bring in Bacon appears to be a clear attempt at beating out Tanner Holmes and Buch Motorsports for the 8th position in the points. The series only has five tracks left on the schedule and Bacon has won at all of them. The series heads to Lucas Oil Speedway for a tripleheader this weekend September 17-19. It then heads to Kokomo Speedway, Eldora Speedway for the 4-Crown Nationals, Lakeside Speedway, and concludes at Texas Motor Speedway in the middle of October.
Bacon’s won twice at Lucas Oil Speedway. First, he won in 2012 in a Winged 360 and then again in 2019 in a Non-wing Sprint Car. At Kokomo, he won in a Non-Wing Sprint Car in 2021, and three times in a Midget, twice in 2017, and once in 2006.
He’s got seven wins at Eldora. He won in a Winged 410 back in 2014, a Silver Crown in 2019, and five times in a Non-wing Sprint Car with the most recent coming earlier this year during the #LetsRaceTwo event.
At Lakeside he has two wins. They both came in a non-Wing Sprint Car in 2017 and 2022. Finally, at Texas Motor Speedway he won in a Winged 360 back in 2018.
