Here’s a look at what to watch for at Mohawk:

A Commanding Lead: With back-to-back wins at Can-Am Speedway last week, two-time and defending Series champion Mat Williamson has a commanding lead in the battle to become this year’s DIRTcar 358 Modified Series champion.

Entering Friday’s race at Mohawk, the St. Catharines, ON driver leads Mike Mahaney by 96 points with four races remaining. Since not finishing the Series opener at Lebanon Valley, Williamson has reeled off seven consecutive podium finishes, including four victories.

At Mohawk, Williamson has three victories, eight top fives and 10 tops 10s in 19 starts. Those victories include a 358 and Super DIRTcar Series triumph in 2019.

A win by “Money Mat” on Friday would be his 25th Series victory.

The 01 Lurks: One driver who’s closed in on second in the Series standings is 2016 champion Chris Raabe.

The Alexandria, ON driver and Mohawk track champion enters this weekend 12 points behind Mahaney, with a chance to defend home turf. Three of Raabe’s five Series victories have come at the 4/10-mile oval, a place where he won five times in 2026.

Overall, he has 45 wins at Mohawk, along with 123 top fives and 150 top 10s in 177 starts.

Mahaney, meanwhile, hasn’t won at Mohawk in 12 starts. However, he does have two top fives and three top 10s. The Elizabethtown, NY driver is searching for his fourth career Series victory, and his second of 2026 after winning at Airborne Park Speedway in June.

North Country Success: Raabe leads a group of 358 Modified regionals stars aiming for their first Series wins of the season after a strong year at Mohawk.

Jordan McCreadie, from Watertown, NY, finished second to Raabe in the final standings, earning a top-10 finish in all 11 starts. McCreadie has two wins at the track in 113 starts, along with 43 top fives and 90 top 10s.

While he hasn’t earned a Series victory, he has finished in the top 10 in each of his last four Series starts at Mohawk. His best Series finish there is a fifth in 2016.

Billy Dunn, who’s earned two straight podium finishes last week at Can-Am, also had success at Mohawk the few times he visited in 2026. The Watertown, NY driver won two of his three 358 Modified starts this season and has reached Victory Lane on 27 occasions at the track.

The other four drivers to win at Mohawk this season were Louis Jackson Jr., Carrey Terrance, Ryan Stabler, and Brian McDonald.
