Kenny Wallace shared his reaction to the wreck between Carson Hocevar and Ryan Blaney and their subsequent fight on pit road during the Saturday night race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Hocevar and Blaney were battling for second place as the laps were winding down at Bristol Motor Speedway. Blaney was able to get around Hocevar and get the second place position. As he went to secure the position, Hocevar attempted a crossover and got into the rear of Blaney and sent him spinning into the inside wall.

Following the conclusion of the race, Blaney confronted Hocevar on pit road. He approached Hocevar, shared some words with him, gave him a shove, and grabbed him. Hocevar responded with two right punches before his crew members drug Blaney off and pushed him to the ground.
Blaney then was able to get back to Hocevar and gave him a left jab to the face.

Wallace shared his reaction describing it as “the greatest [freaking] thing that has happened in NASCAR since the glory days in Bristol.”
He then shared his opinion that Ryan Blaney was at fault for the fight given he confronted Hocevar at his car, “Carson Hocevar was in his spot. The right spot. Ryan Blaney invaded Carson Hocevar’s space. Ryan Blaney attacked Carson Hocevar. I don’t like to call it this way because I really do love Ryan Blaney and I really do like Carson Hocevar, but these are the rules. So, Ryan Blaney attacks, as you can clearly see, Ryan Blaney starts shoving Carson. Carson’s got to defend himself. So Carson lays that damn tall arm, connects, knocks the [crap] out of Ryan Blaney.”
“So, if anybody’s going to get fined, it’s going to be Ryan Blaney because Ryan Blaney instigated it. Ryan Blaney invaded Carson’s space. Ryan Blaney attacked him. If we’re going to jury, if we’re going to court, Carson’s going to be legal because he protects himself,” Wallace added. “Ryan Blaney gets fined. Carson does not get fined.”
In regards to the on-track wreck, Wallace put the blame on Hocevar, “Carson Hocevar is guilty. He did spin Blaney. Listen, I rewound that probably 10 times and went back and went forward, went back and went forward. Okay, Carson could’ve let off. We all let off to keep from spinning somebody out. But the bottom line was is Carson got into the left rear of Blaney and did spin him out.”
After sharing his opinion on both what happened on the track and on pit road afterward, Wallace expressed his hope that NASCAR does not get involved at all.
“What’s going to happen? I hope nothing. I hope nothing happens,” he added. Nevertheless, he reiterated that he believes NASCAR will fine Blaney, “NASCAR is going to have to have a committee and they’re going to have to learn how to rule on this. I see Blaney as the only one getting fined because he invaded his space. … In the court of NASCAR, Blaney’s guilty. That’s all there is to it. Hocevar is guilty for spinning Blaney out.”
Finally, he posited a final question, “These drivers, they keep [whining] about him. Who’s going to wreck Carson Hocevar? Ain’t nobody wrecked him yet. He just keeps spinning everybody right out.”
