High Limit Racing announced that Kerry Madsen will take over the 17GP car for Dutcher Motorsports to concludes the High Limit Racing season.

The series announced, “Kerry Madsen will take the wheel of Michael Dutcher’s ride to finish the final seven shows with the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing —beginning Wednesday at Kokomo Speedway!”

The move comes after Brady Bacon replaced Madsen at Vermeer Motorsports earlier this month as that team attempts to secure a top eight position in the High Limit Racing standings in an attempt to secure membership in the High Roller Club. Vermeer needs to finish eighth or better both this year and in 2027 or finish in the top three either this year or 2027 to secure their membership. 

At the time of the move, Vermeer was five points behind Buch Motorsports and driver Tanner Holmes for the eighth position. After a weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway the team now finds itself 39 points behind.

Madsen had one win, 6 top 5s and 21 Top 10s with Vermeer in 43 feature starts with High Limit Racing. His lone win came at Lucas Oil Speedway back in the middle of April.

Madsen sat idle this past weekend during the High Limit Racing stop at Lucas Oil Speedway, but he still sits 10th in the points standings. He is 34 points behind 9th place running Daison Pursley and 174 points behind Tanner Holmes.

Brock Zearfoss had been behind the wheel of the Dutcher Motorsports ride after he replaced Hank Davis in July. The team has struggled over recent weeks. At Lucas Oil Speedway it never made it out of a B-Main with 14th, 5th, and 11th place finishes in B-features over the three races at the track. The team saw similar results the previous week at Port Royal for the Tuscarora 50 where it finished 14th in a C-Feature, 8th in a B-Feature, and 12th in a B-Feature.

The last time the team made an A-feature was at the beginning of the month at Skagit where it finished 18th on September 4th. However, the other two nights during the Skagit Nationals, they finished 6th and 14th in the B-Feature.

High Limit Racing is back in action this Wednesday at Kokomo Speedway to conclude its Roto-Rooter Midweek Series finale. Madsen is 8th in the miniseries. He is just 19 points behind Tanner Thorson for 7th and 151 back from current leader Brent Marks.

The series then heads to Eldora Speedway for the 4-Crown Nationals from September 25-26. After Eldora it has a two-night show at Lakeside Speedway on October 9-10 for the Heartland of American Showdown presented by Hasty Bake. It then concludes for another two nights of racing at Texas Motor Speedway for the All-In Championship Weekend on October 16-17.
