Carson Hocevar announced in a new YouTube video that he purchased a tank and that his NASCAR competitors need to make sure they think about that fact when they are racing against him.

Hocevar shared that he bought YouTube personality WhistlinDiesel’s British Chieftain battle tank and briefly outlined his plans for the tank that include running over a 2003 Honda Civic as well as “a few other things” including running “over maybe a second car, or a third car, or a small town.”

From there, he sent a message to his NASCAR competitors when he was asked how many of them own a tank. He said, “I don’t think any. And so I think that should really go to the thought process of the other drivers when they’re racing against me. That reminder, I will have a tank.”

Later in the video, he said that the tank will be on his property “and then at every race. Just kind of for protection.”

The purchase comes in the wake of Hocevar getting into a fight with Ryan Blaney at Bristol Motor Speedway last Saturday night after Blaney spun into the outside wall off of Hocevar’s nose as the two were battling for second with less than 50 laps to go.

Following the race, Blaney confronted Hocevar on pit road. He shared some words, gave him a shove, and grabbed him. Hocevar responded with two right punches before his crew members drug Blaney off and pushed him to the ground. Blaney then was able to get back to Hocevar and gave him a left jab to the face.

Following the fight there were plenty of opinions about it and specifically Hocevar. Kenny Wallace described the as “the greatest [freaking] thing,” but he posited a question to Hocevar’s competitors, “These drivers, they keep [whining] about him. Who’s going to wreck Carson Hocevar? Ain’t nobody wrecked him yet. He just keeps spinning everybody right out.”

Kevin Harvick said on SPEED with Harvick and Buxton, “At some point, you have to stand up for yourself, as Blaney tried to do in this particular moment,” Harvick continued. “And you hear a lot of guys talking about what they’re going to do, what they think of it, but they never do anything. At some point if you’re that fed up with it, you just got to wreck him. And you got to do it aggressively, and you got to stand behind it. That’s the thing that reaches to a boiling point.”

“Because right now, Hocevar’s got them all sucked into his game. And they’re all having to talk about Carson. They’re all having to talk about his driving style. And nobody’s doing anything about it on the race track,” he added.

He then pointed to Josh Berry and Ryan Preece exchanging words and hand gestures following the fight with Blaney. 

“You saw the other drivers: Preece and Josh Berry kinda chirping at him after the race. At some point, you just have to do it, right? Like you have to be the one that takes control of the situation. And you have to use him up in order to get that conversation between the two of you. That’s the approach I would take with the situation. It’s not an easy one, but that’s the only thing that usually gets those conversations to kind of build to a head to have the conversations to move forward and how you want to race each other.”

Additionally, Rick Mast said on the Herm & Schrader show, ““Everybody that they’re talking about, the drivers are [whining] about it and griping about it. Well, take care of the situation, man. Take care of the damn situation. This has gone on long enough. They’re all sitting there whining, moaning about it.”

“Well, finally, Blaney gets out and throws a punch, and hell, he got screwed up on that deal, but it’s still going on on the race track,” he continued. “So they got that part to deal with. The drivers [are] going to have to figure that out. They’re going to have to figure that out or just keep taking the blows every week from the guy. Just keep taking it. You figure it out and take care of it, or let—” 

It will be interesting to see if Hocevar does indeed bring the tank to a NASCAR race before the year ends. One can only imagine how many fans he will win over if he does.
