The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP would return to action on Saturday evening at Skyline Speedway in Stewart, OH for the 41st Annual Harvest 50 and Derek Rogers of Spelter, WV would arrive on an open trailer and earn his biggest career payday with his $6,530 victory ($5,000 in earnings and $1,530 bonus courtesy of Steve Shaver and Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices). Rogers would become the 18th different winner in 21 completed features so far in the 2026 season.

The win for the 37-year-old Rogers would be his first career Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP victory and made him the 184th different winner in series history. Rogers’ victory would come aboard his Rocket Chassis powered a Race City Performance (CT525) Engine with sponsorship from Rogers Brothers Racing, Bear Contracting, Fast AF Designs, Amos Paving, and FK Rod Ends.

Derek Rogers would take the lead at start of the 41st Annual Harvest 50 Valvoline A-Main, with Nick Dohm, Freddie Carpenter, Chris Carpenter, and Miles Cook II giving chase. Dohm would immediately challenge for the race lead and would grab the lead on lap three. Dohm would get a bit of breathing room from the field, while Freddie Carpenter would challenge Rogers for second and take the spot on lap eight, but Rogers would not go away and would reclaim the runner-up position on lap eleven.

Dohm would begin to work slower traffic on lap sixteen and the duo of Rogers and Carpenter would close in on the leader and Rogers would resume the first position on lap 21, with Carpenter taking second from Dohm one circuit later. The action would be slowed by a caution for a spin by Kyle Bond in turn two on lap twenty-three.

The restart would only see one more lap scored before a three-car tangle in turn two involving Brandon Francis, Michael Davis, and Rod Conley would again halt the competition. The restart would see Rogers maintain the lead, with Dohm, Chris Carpenter, Zach Milbee, and Freddie Carpenter second through fifth. Rusty Schlenk would work to the outside and challenge Freddie Carpenter for fifth, but couldn’t secure the spot, however, disaster would strike for Freddie Carpenter when he would make contact with the turn one outside wall on lap twenty-seven to draw the caution flag.

Rogers would again control the restart, with Dohm, Chris Carpenter, Milbee, and Colten Burdette now in the fifth position, with Burdette working past Milbee for the fourth position on lap twenty-eight. Rogers would earn the Steve Shaver Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices $1,530 bonus for leading lap thirty, while Carpenter would pressure Dohm for second and take the spot on lap thirty-one.

Caution for a slowed Corey Conley on lap thirty-three would halt the action once again and the attempted restart would see the final caution of the event wave when Kyle Bond looped his machine in turn one. Rogers would again control the restart, with Dohm and Burdette taking second and third, shuffling Carpenter back to fourth, while Schlenk would momentarily be fifth. With Rogers cruising out front, Burdette would take second from Dohm on lap thirty-seven, while Carpenter would go from fourth to second on lap thirty-nine.

Rogers would continue his steady performance out front, but would catch slower traffic on lap forty-six. This would allow Carpenter to close in on Rogers in the closing laps and would be right on Rogers’ rear bumper coming to the checkered flag, with Rogers holding off Carpenter for the win, with Dohm, Burdette, and Cook II completing the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Milbee, Schlenk, Caiden Black, Chad Roush, and R.J. Conley.  

The next event for the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP will be Saturday October 3 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH for the 4th Annual Fall 40, paying $10,000 to win. The event will be co-sanctioned with the Coltman Farms Racing Battle of the Bluegrass DIRTcar Series presented by Slicker Graphics.
