RFK Racing and Brad Keselowski announced that Keselowski will not return as the driver of the No. 6 car following the conclusion of the 2026 NASCAR Cup season.
The team stated in a press release, “Roush Fenway Keselowski (RFK) Racing and Brad Keselowski today announced that Keselowski will conclude his tenure as driver of the No. 6 Ford Dark Horse Mustang following the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, bringing to a close an important chapter for both Keselowski and the organization.”
In a statement released to social media, Keselowski wrote, “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished at RFK over the past five years and grateful for the people I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside, including at Roush Enterprises and Fenway Sports Group.”
“So many great people have poured a tremendous amount into the competitive and technical transformation of this team, and I’ll always value the relationships we’ve built, everything we’ve experienced together, and what I learned as co-owner and as the Head of Competition,” he continued. “I’m nowhere near ready to be done as a driver. I still have a lot I want to accomplish in this sport, and I’m looking forward to what comes next.”
“I’m thankful for everyone who has been part of this journey and for the fans who continue to support me. I look forward to sharing future plans when the time is right,” he concluded.

President of RFK Racing Chip Bowers stated as part of the press release, “We are big fans of Brad as a person, driver, and colleague. The impact Brad has made on our organization has been felt by everyone associated with RFK Racing; he’s undoubtedly been a terrific representative of our collective efforts both on and off the track.”
“He was not simply driving the No. 6 car but investing himself in the future of the team and helping us think differently about what RFK Racing could become. We have tremendous respect for Brad as a champion, competitor, and leader, and we are grateful for the energy and commitment he has brought to RFK. Brad has been clear about his desire to continue competing for years to come, and we respect and support him in pursuing the path that best allows him to achieve those goals. With several races still ahead, we look forward to competing together through the remainder of the season,” he added.
On top of ending his tenure as the driver of the No. 6 car following the conclusion of the 2026 season, Keselowski will also exit his ownership role in the organization. The press release stated, “RFK Racing and Keselowski intend to collaboratively and mutually work through the appropriate next steps regarding his existing ownership interest in the organization, and the team supports his desire to explore his career opportunities elsewhere.”
Additionally, the team still plans to field three cars for the 2027 season and is actively pursuing a third charter. It is also seeking a new Head of Competition, a position that Keselowski held.
Keselowski currently sits 18th in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings. He is currently the second best driver that is not in the Chase behind Shane Van Gisbergen. He has 2 Top 5s and 6 Top 10s this year. His best finish was a 2nd place at Darlington in March.
In his five years with RFK Racing, he won once at Darlington in 2024. He did pile up 25 top 5s and 55 top 10s in 174 starts.
Keselowski spent most of his Cup career with Team Penske. He won 34 of his 36 races there including the 2012 championship, which was the first for Penske in the Cup Series. In addition to his 36 wins, he has a total of 163 Top 5s and 282 Top 10s in 623 total races.
