Cody Sommer and his Race DRT team shared a first look at Cleetus McFarland’s Gateway Dirt Nationals wrap.

As expected the car is American Flag themed with a big bald eagle on the hood.

In addition to revealing the car’s wrap, Race DRT announced sponsorship opportunities to be on the car including the front of the spoiler, the left and right nose, the deck side, the left and right side of the hood, the left and right of the spoiler, and the left and right door stacks.

Not only will you be able to sponsor the car, but depending on where you purchase a sponsorship you will get entries into the Race DRT’s 2026 Sweepstakes where they are giving away a Race DRT Dirt Late Model or $50,000 in cash.

There are also other perks for sponsoring the car based on which piece you sponsor. For example, if you spend $2,000 to sponsor the front spoiler, you will receive 4,000 entries into the sweepstakes alongside a DRT Cleetus Dome Diecast, DRT Decal, DRT Key Chain, DRT Cleetus Dome Mini Door, DRT Cleetus Dome Large Mini Door, DRT Cleetus Dome Car Cutout Sign, DRT Hat, DRT Cleetus Dome T-Shirt, and a DRT Cleetus Dome Hoodie.

The Gateway Dirt Nationals will be McFarland’s first ever race in a Dirt Late Model. The partnership between Sommer and McFarland was announced back in the middle of August. McFarland shared in a video to Facebook, “What’s up guys I’m Cleetus McFarland and I’ll be racing at the Gateway Dirt Nationals December 3-5. Come out and see us. See me turn left on dirt. It’ll be my debut so anything can happen.”

The Race DRT team also shared in the post, “We had an awesome time testing, learned a lot and are excited to continue making laps as we prepare for our December 3rd-5th Debut in St Louis at The Dome at America’s Center!”

In another video that was uploaded to McFarland’s YouTube channel, McFarland showcased some testing he and the Race DRT team did alongside Chris Ferguson at East Lincoln Speedway.

Additionally, McFarland shared that the deal to race in the Gateway Dirt Nationals was brokered by NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar, “Cody hit me up. Actually reached out through Carson Hocevar, who races the event. Carson was like, ‘Dude, you got to come.’ And Cody said, ‘Hey, I own a team, too. I also own the event and I want you to race in my car.”

During one portion of the test session, McFarland ran a fast lap of 16.58 seconds. He improved a tenth nearly every single lap before laying down the 16.58 lap. McFarland then got out of the car and watched Ferguson rip a few laps around the track. After Ferguson was done, McFarland said, “We’re basically same lap times.”

McFarland also revealed that before he competes in the Gateway Dirt Nationals he will take part in at least one more test session. Additionally, he suggested that Carson Hocevar test with him, “I’m trying to get Carson to come so that I can run cars with him and pass and do all that stuff. I can see that being dangerous for both of our vehicles, but I got to get a little bit of passing data before I just go.”

Sommer indicated he would work on it, “We’ll line that up next time.”

The Gateway Dirt Nationals take place from December 3-5, 2026 at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. A temporary 1/5 mile dirt track is built inside the former NFL stadium. The event is headlined by Dirt Super Late Models with Modifieds on the undercard. Preliminary racing action takes place on Thursday and Friday night with a Saturday night finale. The Saturday finale for the Dirt Super Late Models paid $70,000 in 2025. The prelim features on Thursday and Friday night paid $10,000 to-win. All the racing action is available to watch on FloRacing if you cannot make it in person.
