The Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series races previously scheduled for this upcoming Friday and Saturday, October 9th-10th at North Alabama Speeday and Thunderhill Raceway have been postponed.
The races have been postponed to November 6th and 7th due to expected weather conditions in the area as Hurricane Isaias is expected to make landfall late Friday or early Saturday.
The track shared in a press release, “While severe weather is not expected to reach the area until the early hours of Saturday morning, STSDS officials also considered the safety of race teams and fans traveling home following Friday night’s event with torrential rainfall and hurricane-force winds expected across the region. High diesel prices also played a role in the decision, as it did not make sense for Super Late Model teams to make the trip for a single event.”
The race at North Alabama Speedway will take place on November 6th and Thunderhill will run on November 7th.

While the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series program has been postponed at North Alabama Speedway, the track announced it will run a weekly program on Friday night.
The track shared on Facebook, “For everyone who still wants to come out and race, we WILL have a weekly show!”
Following the rescheduled races at North Alabama and Thunderhill, the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series will conclude its season with a doubleheader at Southern Raceway on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21st. The Friday night program will pay $5,000 to-win while Saturday night will pay $10,000 to-win.
