Sumter Speedway Postpones Carolina Clash Race Scheduled For Saturday, October 10 Due To Hurricane Isaias

Sumter Speedway announced that it postponed the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series race scheduled to take place at the track on Saturday, October 10th due to incoming Hurricane Isaias.

The track announced on Facebook, “Due to this weekend’s hurricane and the current weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our race event scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026. 🌧️🌪️“

“We sincerely apologize for the change and any inconvenience this may cause. The safety of our racers, teams, staff, and spectators always comes first, and we feel this is the best decision for everyone,” the track explained.

No date has been set to makeup the race yet, but the track shared, “We will be working closely with the Carolina Clash to find a new makeup date and will share those details with everyone as soon as we have them.”

The track concluded, “We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support. ❤️ We appreciate every single one of you more than you know!”

While it is yet to be determined when the race at Sumter will be rescheduled to, the series was originally scheduled to have its season finale at Lake View Motor Speedway on October 17th with a $12,000 to-win race.

Ben Watkins currently leads the Carolina Clash points over rookie Jeremy Steele. He has a 217 point lead over Steele. Steve Banal is in third, 448 points back. Christian Thomas sits in the fourth position, 530 points behind Watkins. Gray Parton is fifth with a 583 point deficit. 

Watkins has effectively locked up the championship if he starts the final two races.
