Bobby Pierce’s chances at a $50,000 payday in the Clash on the Wabash at Eldora Speedway ended in a B-Main.
Pierce looked like he was going to do what he’s done so often this year, drive his way into a race through a B-Main. Unfortunately, he ran over something in turns 3 and 4 and cut a right rear tire while he was leading.
His team would get the tire changed and send him back out on the track with 3 laps left. However, he would end his night early following the restart parking at the end of the pit road and the entrance of the track in turn 1.
Following the race, FloRacing’s coverage showed Pierce communicating with a track safety official before he climbed back in the car and drove it back to his hauler. Pierce can be seen exiting his car as Brian Shirley ripped around the top on the final lap of the B-Main.

Pierce explained what happened on the final restart in a post to X, “On the restart, the car in front of me had terrible exhaust fumes. It was like burning electrical wires.. weird deal. Took my breath away & had me coughing for air.”
“Plus, single file restart so I couldn’t get out of line to pass him.. guy didn’t go. 3 laps wasnt enough time,” he concluded.

Pierce is expected to be back in action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this upcoming weekend at West Virginia Motor Speedway for the 46th Dirt Track World Championship that takes place on October 16-17. He will then head to the final race ever at Volunteer Speedway for the FloRacing Night in America series on Thursday, October 22nd before returning to World of Outlaws Late Model Series action at Modoc Speedway on October 23-24.
He will then conclude the World of Outlaws Late Model season at The Dirt Track at Charlotte from November 5-7. While those final five races will determine who wins the World of Outlaws title, Pierce’s season is far from over. He still has the conclusion of the FloRacing Night in America Series with a doubleheader at Senoia Raceway on November 13-14 and finally the Gateway Dirt Nationals at the Dome at America’s Center from December 3-5.
Pierce currently leads the World of Outlaws Late Model Series points over Nick Hoffman. He has a commanding 96 point lead with just the five races left.
In the FloRacing Night in America Series, Pierce is currently 4th, 78 points back with three races left.
