Tyler Courtney’s fiancé Aysia  shared that Courtney is expected to make a “full recovery” after he underwent surgery yesterday due to injuries suffered in a brutal wreck at Eldora Speedway during the High Limit Racing Joker’s Jackpot race on Thursday night.

Courtney was collected in a lap 1 wreck when Buddy Kofoid drifted into the middle of the track and made contact with him. Bill Balog, who was running behind Courtney, piled into his rear. The contact flipped Courtney upside down and sent him into the catch fence. He then helicoptered in the air and smacked a slowing Hunter Schuerenberg. He then barrel rolled multiple times before eventually coming to a stop.

Courtney was transported to a local hospital following the wreck. The High Limit Racing series reported, “Tyler Courtney was extracted and communicating with officials after the opening lap crash. He will be transported for further evaluation.”

His fiancé Aysia also initially reported that he was “alert and able to move his extremities.”

She added, “We appreciate all the outreach and will continue to update as we learn more. Thank you for all of the positive support.”

In her most recent update, she shared that he underwent surgery. She wrote, “Tyler is out of surgery and is in post-op recovery. Doctors are pleased with the results and expect a full recovery over the next few months. Please keep the positive thoughts coming, as we still do have a long journey ahead of us.”

“Tyler of course is ready to get back on the track! Thank you all for your support. We appreciate it very much!” she concluded.
