Coles County Speedway announced it will host the Road to the Dome Invitational on September 28th ahead of the Gateway Dirt Nationals that will take place between December 4th and 6th at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
The 1/8 mile track, which is located in Mattoon, Illinois announced, “Coles County Speedway is proud to announce the Road to the Dome, a one-night-only, invite-only showdown set to take place on Sunday, September 28, 2025. This high-stakes event will feature some of the nation’s most elite drivers in Super Late Models and Modifieds, battling it out under the lights on the famed Illinois clay.”
The event’s promoter Brian Rieck stated, “This isn’t just another race night — this is an elite-level shootout. We’re bringing together a handpicked roster of top-tier drivers and putting on a show that fans won’t forget.”
The track has been regularly announcing the drivers they’ve invited since making the announcement on July 20th. So far the list of super dirt late model drivers that have been invited includes:

- Bobby Pierce
- Gordy Gundaker
- Nick Hoffman
- Shannon Babb
- Brandon Sheppard

- Tyler Carpenter
- Jonathan Davenport
- Tim McCreadie
- Mike Marlar
As for the modified drivers, it includes:

Most recently, the track announced that Rural King has come on board to sponsor the event. Rieck said, “Partnering with a locally-rooted and nationally-respected brand like Rural King is a huge win for the Coles County Speedway community. Rural King shares our values of hard work, tradition, and community pride, making them the perfect fit for this landmark event.”
Additionally, the track shared that it will be sharing more details in the weeks to come specifically information on “ticketing, full payout structure, driver roster, and fan experiences.”
