Kyle Strickler “the High Side Tickler” issued a statement after he was arrested for public intoxication in Boone County, Kentucky.

Boone County, Kentucky’s website reveals Strickler was arrested at 2:48 AM local time on August 9th for alcohol intoxication in a public place (1st & 2nd offense). The arrest was originally publicized by the Dirt Behind The Scenes Facebook page that shared a screenshot from the website and stated, “Looks like the party at Florence Speedway got a little too wild last night. Kyle Strickler got snagged for ‘Public Intox, first and second offense.’ Can’t people just party in peace?”

Strickler responded to this and the arrest writing, “Turns out when I asked cop if he wanted an autograph, he didn’t think it was as funny as I did. Sorry for having fun. Hot laps at 6. See yall there.”

In the comments Strickler shared additional information about the arrest, “tried to stop a fight, the cop asked me to leave, then asked if I was a driver. I made a smart ass comment and said “why do you want an autograph?” then he tackled me. There’s the rest of the story. I got arrested for being a smart ass, that’s on me.. like I said see you tonight.”

Strickler also made it clear that he plans to make a t-shirt based on the arrest.
