AMSOIL National Sprint Car driver Briggs Danner called for Kokomo Speedway to change its track configuration following a wicked wreck involving David Gasper during the B-Feature.

With 4 laps to go in the B-Feature, Gaspar’s left front tire made contact with Chance Crum’s right rear while the two were battling for the final transfer spot down the straightaway. The contact sent Gaspar into the outside wall and sent him barrel rolling down into turn 1 and across an open wall. His car barely missed the corner of the open wall and he continued to flip into turn 1.

Gaspar climbed from the car under his own power, but appeared to be walking gingerly, but was reported to be “a-okay” by FloRacing.

Danner, who finished 20th in the feature on Saturday night after wrecking while battling Justin Grant for the lead, reacted to the wreck writing on X, “If this video isn’t enough to change this open wall in turn 1 then I don’t know what is. Somethings gotta be done because this was inches away from being way worse.”
