The World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series announced it is canceling its upcoming two-night Summer Cup Clash at Tri-City Speedway that was originally scheduled for September 26th and 27th.

In a blog post, the series revealed the decision to cancel was made by the track. It stated, “After discussions with Kevin and Tammy Gundaker, they felt due to a tough financial season, hindered by multiple rainouts, it would be in the track’s best interest to shift its focus to smaller investment shows to close out the season.”

Tammy Gundaker commented on the cancellation saying, “A year ago, when we had a vision and agreement to host this combined event, we never anticipated having as tough a season as we’ve had.  At this time, this is a very tough but necessary decision that Tri-City Speedway must make.”

While late model portion of the Summer Cup Clash has been canceled, the MARS Modified Championship 21st annual Mod Mania that takes place between September 25-27 will go on as planned.

If you purchased tickets for the event refunds will be given as “a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account – good for two years – to be used toward any World of Outlaws event available at WorldofOutlaws.com/tix.” If you do not want a credit, you can also request a refund.

The World of Outlaws will be back in action on September 12th at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia and then at Senoia Raceway for the Billy Clanton Classic on September 13th. With Tri-City canceling they won’t be back in action until October for the Humboldt Showdown at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas on October 3rd and then the Ed Gressel Tribute at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on October 4th.
