Mike Marlar announced he has departed Skyline Motorsports effective immediately.
In a press release posted to his website, it announced, “After much consideration, Skyline Motorsports and Mike Marlar have decided to move in different directions. This decision comes with mutual respect and gratitude between all parties involved.”
Specifically, Marlar said, “This was not an easy decision, but one made with the best interests of everyone in mind.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Greg and (teammate) Tyler Bruening and the entire Skyline Motorsports team, sponsors and supporters who have been part of this journey. The friendships and memories made will last well beyond our time competing as a team,” he added.
While he will no longer be racing for Skyline Motorsports, he will still receive sponsorship from team owner Greg Bruening as he returns to race with his former car owner Ronnie Delk. Joining Marlar to race with Delk are crew members Josh Davis and Jerry Sprouse.
FloRacing reports Marlar will not be running on a national tour in 2026, but will instead follow a pick-and-choose schedule that could also include dates sometime later this year. There are no dates listed on his website at this time.
Marlar began his tenure with Skyline Motorsports at the end of October 2023 and immediately won his debut with the World of Outlaws at The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the World Finals. In 2024, he racked up wins at Volusia Speedway Park, Golden Isles Speedway, Volunteer Speedway, Ponderosa Speedway, Fairbury Speedway, and Brownstown Speedway. This year he won at Mudlick Valley Raceway, Rockcastle Speedway and Sharon Speedway in his dirt late model and notched two wins at Port Royal Speedway in an UMP Modified.
