Kasey Kahne Racing announced that Daison Pursley will replace Brad Sweet and compete in a full time season with the team for the High Limit Championship in 2026.

In a press release posted to social media, Kasey Kahne Racing announced, “Kasey Kahne Racing is excited to announce Daison Pursley as the new full-time driver of the NAPA Auto Parts No. 9. Pursley will debut with KKR at the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, before taking on his first full season with the team in pursuit of the 2026 High Limit Championship.”

“I recognize Daison’s commitment to excel in the sport and be a top sprint car driver,” said Kasey Kahne. “His story and resume speaks for itself, and in some cases, mirrors the same passions I had as a young racer. His drive, goals, and talent are aligned with KKR and our partners. We look forward to doing big things together.”

Pursley said, “I’m super excited and grateful for this opportunity. To drive for Kasey and everyone at KKR is truly a dream come true. I look forward to carrying the legacy and success that KKR has built. I’m also really looking forward to representing NAPA — they’ve been such a huge supporter of KKR for many years, and it means a lot to have them on board with me. I can’t wait to get things started.”

NAPA’s Director of Partnerships Strategy and Activation Katherine Wooten added, “As part of our continued partnership with Kasey Kahne Racing, we are thrilled to welcome Daison Pursely to the NAPA Racing family and look forward to ushering in a new era of success in the NAPA Auto Parts No. 9.”

The move comes after Pursley finished 7th in the High Limit Racing series this past year and won the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year. He had one win, seven top 5s, and 23 top 10s in 48 features. His win came at Lernerville Speedway back in September.

Outside of High Limit Racing, he put on a historic performance at the 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway winning in the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series, the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget series, and the USAC Silver Crown National Championship. Pursley also won the USAC National Midget series in 2024.

Pursley joining Kasey Kahne Racing comes after Brad Sweet announced his retirement from full-time racing during the High Limit Racing awards banquet earlier this month. Sweet said, ““As many of you know-. This is going to be harder than I thought. As many of you in this room know this was my final full-time season.”

“Racing has been my whole life, walking away from driving full-time is not easy. But I know this I gave it everything I had, every lap, every season, every championship. This isn’t goodbye to racing, it’s just the end of a chapter behind the wheel full time. I will still be around supporting this sport we all love and giving back as much as I possibly can to the next generation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Sweet added.
