A new report says that Brandon Overton will stay with the Longhorn Factory Team in 2026 after signing a multiyear deal last year with the team.

DirtonDirt.com staff reporter Kyle McFadden shared, “A lot of people on social media tend to believe that Brandon Overton won’t return to the Longhorn Factory Team in 2026. Those speculations just aren’t true. Overton signed a multiyear contract with the team and, while he underperformed this year, I think he deserves another year in the car to really prove himself.”

“I guess nowadays with drivers and teams not afraid to part ways with another, there’s an expectation that if someone isn’t performing right away, change could be imminent,” he continued. “While I understand those thoughts, I don’t foresee Longhorn starting over with a fourth driver in five years. It’s evident Anthony Burroughs is one of the best crew chiefs in the business, and it’s equally evident that Overton is a proven driver. They’ll right the ship eventually, maybe as soon as Charlotte’s World Finals.”

The Longhorn Factory Team and Riggs Motorsports announced Overton and Burroughs would be joining the team about a year ago. In a Facebook post the team stated, “Excited to announce our plans for 2025 with the Longhorn Factory Team starting with 2 instrumental pieces, our driver Brandon Overton and our Crew Chief Anthony Burroughs.”

Overton and the Longhorn Factory Team started off strong in the beginning of the year. He finished 2nd, 5th, 2nd, 14th, and 4th at Ocala Speedway with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. He followed that up with 6th, 5th, and a 1st at Volusia Speedway with the DIRTcar Late Models. However, he would only get one win at Circle City Raceway with Lucas Oil the entire year and only amassed 11 top 5s. However, he racked up 31 top 10s in 47 features. He ended up finishing 7th in points behind Devin Moran, Ricky Thornton Jr., Jonathan Davenport, Hudson O’Neal, Brandon Sheppard, and Garrett Alberson.

Outside of Lucas Oil, he only won twice. First was at Volusia Speedway Park in February with the DIRTCar late models and then at East Alabama for a Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals race at the end of March. Overall MyRacePass reports he had 3 wins, 26 Top 5s, and 58 Top 10s in 90 features.

His performance in crown jewel events was not astounding. He finished 23rd in the World 100 at Eldora. In June at The Dream he finished 14th. He didn’t even make the show for the Prairie Dirt Classic finishing 19th in the third Last Chance Showdown race. He finished 9th in the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway. For the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway he finished 12th. His best performance was In the North/South 100 at Florence where he finished 2nd and 3rd in the preliminary nights and finished 8th on Saturday night.
