Skyline Motorsports announced that it will continue to field a second car with 20-year-old Dallon Murty joining the team beginning with Speedweeks next year.

In a press release, the team shared, ” A new chapter is set to begin for Skyline Motorsports as the Iowa-based organization is proud to announce the addition of Dallon Murty. The young racer will join teammate Tyler Bruening for the 2026 season and beyond.”

Team owner Greg Bruening said, “Obviously, I’m excited. It’s always tough to make a driver change. Mike [Marlar] was all class and a great teammate to Tyler, but with Dallon, I feel like we’re giving the next generation a chance. There’s no question he has tremendous potential and a bright future ahead of him, but this is also a way for us to give back to the sport. In the past, we’ve had teammates who mentored Tyler, and now I want to reverse the roles and have him take the lead.”

“Despite his youth, Dallon has an extensive racing background, and he’s proven to be competitive in anything he drives,” Bruening said. “He’s also very hands-on and not afraid to get underneath the car and make adjustments. That kind of work ethic goes a long way in this sport.”

As for Murty, he’s excited as well, “This is what you dream of as a kid. To work your way up to the point where you can drive for someone else. I can’t thank Greg and Tyler enough for the opportunity. It’s awesome to be part of a top-notch program like Skyline Motorsports. I’m looking forward to working with the entire team. I also want to thank my family and sponsors who’ve helped me reach this point — it means a lot.”

He added in a Facebook post, “Pretty excited for my new journey next year. Thank you to Greg, Tyler, and everyone involved with Skyline Motorsports for the opportunity. So many great people stuck behind me and got myself to this point. Very thankful for everyone who has been involved over the years. Truly a dream to be in this position!”

Murty’s new teammate, Tyler Bruening also shared, “I’m from Iowa, so I’m a little biased, but I think IMCA racing produces some of the best racers. Dallon is a perfect example of that. He was elite in Stock Cars and proved himself in Late Models this season. I’m excited to get to work with him and see what we can do together.”

Both Murty and Bruening will compete in Austin Kirkpatrick’s AK Racecars’ Rev1 race cars next year. Additionally, Murty will relocate from his home in Chelsea, Iowa to Skyline Motorsports’ Decorah headquarters. Finally, Murty’s crew chief will be Cory Richman while Zeb Holkesvik will continues as Tyler Bruening’s.

Murty competed in 81 features across multiple divisions including modifieds, pro late models, super late models, and IMCA Stock Cars this year and brought home 21 wins. Back in 2020 and 2021 he won the IMCA Stock Car Super Nationals at Boone Speedway. Most recently he won in both the IMCA Stock Car division and the Pro Late Model division at Marshalltown Speedway back on October 25th.
