Billy Hicks Racing announced that they will not be competing in the Peach State Classic weekend at Senoia Raceway this weekend.

The team announced earlier this week it would be competing in both nights of the Peach State Classic. It wrote on Facebook, “The Billy Hicks owned #79 will be in action at Senoia Raceway Thursday-Saturday for the Peach State Classic and Sunday at The Place Your Mana Warned You About Cherokee Speedway for the Freddy Smith Memorial!”

Of note the team did not reveal who the driver would be given it had parted ways with Donald McIntosh following the conclusion of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The team announced McIntosh’s departure on Facebook about a month ago, “NEW news for 2026, both Billy Hicks Racing & Donald McIntosh Racing will be heading in different directions. May the new season bring us both success!”

McIntosh commented to FloRacing explaining the split, “It’s just been a long year. Billy’s done this a long time and we’ve done it a long time together. And it’s just, it’s time for a change. We’ve had a lot of fun and we’ve had success together. We won a couple Ray Cook series and were able to cap off on this. I’m proud to have done it with him and he’s a like a father figure to me really. It’s a step that I’m wanting to take and I’ve been blessed to do it. It’s just time for something else.”

Now, just ahead of hot laps for the Peach State Classic, Billy Hicks Racing edited their previous post on Facebook announcing it would be at the Peach State Classic and Cherokee to indicate it would not be competing in the FloRacing Night in America two-night event nor at Cherokee for the Freddy Smith Memorial.

“We have decided to forgo this weekends events to work towards selecting a driver, refresh our hauler, and finalize plans to run with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2026,” the team stated. “Hope everyone has safe travels and a fun weekend.”
