Veteran dirt late model driver Mark Voigt and his wife Kristi were involved in a wreck that saw both of them transported to the hospital.
Voigt’s wife Kristi Zobrist Osborn shared details about the wreck to Facebook, “Lots of you have discovered our heart wrenching news. We were hit on a golf cart on passenger side { my side } on Thursday afternoon at high speed. We were both ejected.”
“I went by helicopter to Miami and will be here till I get through a few surgeries,” she continued. “Mark went by ambulance to Key West Hospital and they let him discharge himself with a lot of bruises and abrasions and a broken back so he could drive to Miami to be by my side that night and he’s not left me since.”
“We are thankful to be alive , by-the grace of God. I have lots of bumps, bruises and abrasions, 2 broken ribs , broken neck, 3 broken pelvic bones, broken lumbar bones & lots of broken face bones. Thank you God for giving us this day for Racing Man and I to live old and in love,” she concluded. “I will work hard & get back in my Transportation Van at HSHS. Thank you all for the well wishes, we love y’all so much.”
In an update this morning Krisi shared that she’s getting prepped for surgery and requested people continue to pray for her. She said, “I have 2 big surgeries today. I will be away from my husband around 9-10 hrs. Pray for calmness over him. I love you all so much.”
According to Sommer Walker, one of those surgeries will be to fix her pelvic bone and she is expected to begin physical therapy on Thursday. Additionally, Walker has requested that anyone who is interested in supporting Mark and Kristi to send gift cards and monetary donations to 511 West Division St. Marine, IL 62061.
She also shared a Venmo account that you can also provide funds to. The funds will help Mark and Kristi when they return home by “having meals prepared, money to pay bills and gift cards to purchase food … so they can focus on healing.”
