Joey Logano addressed a number of concerned fans who were worried about his health after he debuted a new shaved head look.
In a video uploaded to X, Logano shared, “I got a bunch of text messages and DMs lately about my new do, my new haircut. And a lot of people concerned if I was okay. First off, I appreciate everyone asking if I was okay. I am fine. I am perfectly healthy. Just wanted to get a haircut at the end of the season.”
“I have alopecia, which I’ve had for a long time now,” he continued. “So when we were cutting it was all flared up and so it was all spotty. And so we just kept cutting it. And now I got a new do. I’m good, like I said. Appreciate everyone caring. Didn’t think it would be this big of a story, but after getting so many text messages I felt like I probably should let everyone know I’m all right. So that’s all this.”
Appreciate everyone reaching out and checking in after seeing my new look. Thankful for all the text, calls and messages. pic.twitter.com/PcKvrzxKNr

Logano shared he had alopecia areata back in 2019. He told The Athletic at the time, “It could be way worse, but I just wanted to say something before anyone assumed it was something else.”
He added, “If you’re a kid in school or if you’re a woman, it’s probably even harder to deal with something like this. For me, I’m OK with it. But I don’t have high school kids making fun of me either, and I’m old enough and have been through enough where I can handle it. I just want to give support to people dealing with the same thing.”
In December 2022, Logano shared he was teaming up with HairClub, “For years I’ve battled with alopecia and early hair loss. Many don’t notice since I wear a hat or helmet most of the time. I decided to do something about it and I couldn’t be happier. The great people at HairClub found the perfect solution for me and my busy lifestyle.”

A few months later and Logano showed up to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the Clash with a full head of hair and a HairClub sponorship. Logano commented on his new hairdo at the time, “[Hairclub] had a fix for me, probably have a fix for everybody, and so I look 10 years younger. I’m like the old days again. I’m back. I look better and I feel good.”
