It appears that JCM Motorsports has tapped Brenden Smith to compete for the team at the Dome and heading into 2026.

Justin Fiedler aka Dirtrackr broke the news in a recent video upload. He shared, “It sounds like for at least the Gateway Dirt Nationals and maybe into 2026 Florida driver Brenden Smith is getting the nod. I’ve had a few folks send me images of a wrap that’s going around for the 19m and Smith.”

The wrap was also shared with Stock Car Report and was shared by designer Brian Green to his story.

Green previously designed Smith’s 2025 wrap. Brenden Smith and his team thanked him for the design back in January writing in a Facebook post, “Here’s our new look for 2025, thanks to Brian Green for an awesome design.”

Smith competed in 49 features and achieved 4 top 5s and 15 top 10s this past year according to My Race Pass across super late models, 604s, and CRUSA. His best finishes were a second place at Ocala in the middle of April, a third place and fourth place at Hendry County Motorsports Park with the CRUSA Late Models, and fourth place at Volusia Speedway Park with the 604 late models.

With the World of Outlaws, he made three features, but did not have any top 10s. On the Lucas side he competed in 10 features, but did not have any top 10s. His best finish with the Outlaws was a 14th at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park in June. His best Lucas Oil finish was also a 14th. That came at Huset’s Speedway in July.

JCM Motorsports parted ways with Spencer Hughes in August of this year. Hughes informed FloRacing’s Kyle McFadden, “I’m thankful for all of it, Colten and his family and everyone that’s been with him that’s been able to do it for me the couple years. Just sometimes life takes you down different paths. He wanted to continue pursuing the Lucas Oil Late Model Series and I just wasn’t really in the position at this time to do so.”

“I felt like it was in the best interest for me personally in my life to run more of a regional schedule for the back half of this year until we can get all our ducks in a row,” Hughes added. “Colten wanted to continue on. He wanted to go on Lucas and stuff, and I just believe I have to do what’s right for me and everyone around me. There was no big blow up either. I talked to him, and he talked to his wife. And they understand.”

After the split with Hughes the team partnered with Hunt the Front’s Joseph Joiner and competed with the team in the Topless 100 at Batesville, the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville, the Knoxville Nationals, the Pittsburgher, and the Dirt Track World Championship. Joiner and his team were offered the ride for the 2026 season, but they turned it down sharing that they didn’t feel it was the right direction for him and Hunt the Front as a whole.
