Zack Mitchell announced he and Coltman Farms Racing agreed to mutually part ways and Coltman Farms Racing has brought in Donald McIntosh to replace him.
Mitchell shared his departure on Facebook, “After thoughtful discussion, Coltman Farms Racing and I have mutually agreed to part ways.”
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunities, support, and teamwork we shared during our time together,” he continued. “We felt at this time we were both looking in different directions moving into the 2026 season. Being part of their program has been an important chapter in my career, and I wish them nothing but success moving forward. We feel proud of what we accomplished during our 2025 season wrapping up the year with a victorious 11 wins. Our most to date. We had a great year.”
Mitchell is still figuring out his 2026 plans writing, “As far as 2026 goes- we will be around. I’m exploring the best path forward for me and my family and will share updates as soon as l’m able.”
Mitchell had wins at Cherokee, North Georgia Speedway, Shadyhill, Crystal Motor Speedway, Oakshade Raceway, Toccoa Raceway, Sugar Creek, and the Talladega short track. He finished fourth in the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, 74 points behind eventual winner Jimmy Owens. Three of his wins came during the Summer Nationals. He also had 5 tops 5s and 5 top 10s in just 6 feature appearances during the Hell Tour. He eventually finished 25th in points.
With Mitchell parting ways Coltman Farms Racing announced it was bringing in Donald McIntosh to compete on a national tour. The team stated in a press release shared to Facebook, ” Coltman Farms Racing owner Brett Coltman is excited to announce the addition of veteran Dirt Late Model driver Donald McIntosh to the team ahead of the 2026 season.”
The team added, “McIntosh, 32, will be a teammate to current Coltman Farms Racing driver Tanner English. Plans are currently being made for McIntosh and English to each compete at the national level in 2026.”
While he will be racing with the team heading into 2026, he will make his appearance with the team at the Gateway Dirt Nationals this upcoming weekend at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
McIntosh said of the opportunity, “I have raced Late Models for 12 years now and drove for multiple teams, but the opportunity to drive for Brett Coltman and Coltman Farms Racing is the biggest thing that’s happened in my career. Brett has done so much for the motorsports industry these last few years, so it’s an honor to be part of his program in 2026.”
“I feel very blessed for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish together,” he added.
“I’ve known Donald for several years now and I’ve had the pleasure of watching him develop as a race car driver,” said Coltman Farms Racing owner Brett Coltman. “I’ve watched him perform at the highest levels of our sport and I know he has what it takes to win.”
“He’s going to be an incredible asset to Coltman Farms Racing. He is a role model on and off the race track and is the type of everyday hero we should all strive to be. I’m proud to kick off this new era with Donald beginning at the Gateway Dirt Nationals,” he concluded.
McIntosh departed ways with Billy Hicks Racing following the conclusion of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and a successful Rookie of the Year campaign. He finished 10th in overall points in the series and had 1 top 5 and 11 top 10s in 44 features. His lone top 5 in the series came at Atomic Speedway on July 4th. Outside of Lucas Oil, he had one win at Dixie Speedway in the middle of October.
