Josh Rice was not happy with the way Michael Page threw a slider at him during the running of The Gobbler at Duck Ricer Raceway Park.

As shared by the Middle Tennessee Racing News Facebook page, Rice, Josh Putnam, and Page were all very aggressive on the start. Rice was able to grab the lead with a slider through 1 and 2 to keep Putnam behind him. Putnam returned the favor the next lap and threw a heavy slider, but he got a little sideway that allowed Rice to easily cross him over and lose second position to Page.

On the next lap through 1 and 2. Rice entered high while Page ran a slider line and fenced Rice. Rice was none too happy about it and retaliated as they were entering turn three. He got Page sideways, but did not appear to damage his car while Rice’s night was ended.

After exiting the race, Rice shared on Facebook, “Christmas is next month, but in the spirit of the holidays, we got a bad slider gifted to us early. Finished 22nd. On to the dome.”

In the comments Rice also indicated that his right rear wheel was “ripped in half” after making contact with the wall.

Based on video footage from Middle Tennessee Racing News, it appeared as if Putnam was the car to beat after Rice exited. He was able to get past Page and was running away with it. However, he made contact with a slowing car in turns 1 and 2 that damaged his car and forced him to exit the race. He ended up finishing in 13th.

Page would go on to win the race besting Dalton Cook, who finished second and Camaron Marler, who rounded out the podium in third. Dillon Tidmore finished fourth and last year’s Gobbler champion Oakley Johns finished fifth.
