Muskingum County Speedway track promoter Tristan Moran announced a new race that will pit the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series racers versus the World of Outlaws drivers titled The Dirt Cup.
Moran shared details in an appearance on the FloRacing broadcast at the Gateway Dirt Nationals. He shared, “The Dirt Cup is going to be a true invite only World of Outlaws versus Lucas Oil at Muskingum County Speedway June 10th, next year, 2026.”
“To get these guys to show up to something like this it’s a lot about the money and about the bragging rights,” he added. “So we’ve got a pretty good chunk of money that are we going to give to every single driver to show up to the facility. … If anyone knows anything about golf, Ryder Cup is kind of what we’re playing off of. So it is going to be a true test of which series is better.”
“So the total purse is going to be probably $20,000 to-win, $2,000 to start. But total money we’re looking at about $200,000 in total payout,” he concluded.

Muskingum County Speedway hinted at the race at the end of last month sharing a photo of the Ryder Cup trophy writing on Facebook, “Cool trophy. Gives us an idea…More info coming very soon!”
If you are unfamiliar with the Ryder Cup, the competition pits golfers from Europe against those from the United States. There are 24 players in total that compete with 12 from the United States and 12 from Europe. The competition takes place over an entire weekend with three different formats and points awarded based on which team wins each format for the day.
No details were revealed on how which series will win the Dirt Cup or what kind of format the event will take. But it’s not hard to imagine that qualifying and heat race performance could provide points for their respective teams on top of the race.
As for the race’s date June 10th is a Wednesday and just after the weekend of the Dirt Late Model Dream. It also takes place before the World of Outlaws head to West Virginia Motor Speedway for a two-night event on Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series is off that week with their next races coming at Smoky Mountain Speedway on June 19th and 20th.
The race will be broadcast on FloRacing.
