Jason Durham, the crew chief for SSI Motorsports and its No. 71 Longhorn piloted by Hudson O’Neal, shared the team’s tentative plans for 2026.

In an interview with FloRacing’s Kyle McFadden, Durham shared, “Everybody’s staying on. Everybody’s on board for another year. We are planning on doing the Lucas Oil deal again. Everything’s going well were just visiting with all the product sponsors and vendors that we have at the PRI and looking forward to getting 2026 started.”

When asked how vital it was to keep the entire team together, Durham replied, “It’s very important. Very vital. ’25 was kind of a building year for all of us and we all get along well. We all work and gel good together. So ’26 we’ll have that part of it out of the way. And racing’s a lot of luck so hopefully with a little bit of luck next year and everything goes well we’ll have a good season.”

Durham joined SSI Motorsports at the beginning of March this year and seemingly made a near instant impact with wins at Lucas Oil Speedway in April. The team then clicked off a number of top 5s and top 10s throughout the month and into May with a 5th place at Georgetown, an 8th at Hagerstown, and a 9th at Port Royal. The team podiumed at the beginning of May with thirds at Circle City and Farmer City. In between those two they finished second at the FloRacing Night in America race at Spoon River. They would win the Flo race at Marshalltown.

The team continued to perform strongly on the Lucas Oil tour with 7th, 2nd, and 6th place finishes at Eagle Raceway. They then won twice and had a third place finish at Lucas Oil Speedway.

The team would go on to win at Muskingum County Speedway, Huset’s Speedway, and Knoxville Raceway on the Lucas tour. The success throughout the tail end of Spring and through the summer vaulted the team into a playoff spot where they eventually finished fourth after some tough luck to start the chase at Brownstown.

With the team having nearly an entire year together, and O’Neal bringing his experience running Kevin Rumley’s Longhorn there are definitely high expectation heading into 2025 and the team is expected to challenge for the championship.
