Luke Morey is reportedly circling the Coltman Farms Racing ride that recently opened up after the team split with Tanner English when he chose not to relocate to Georgia.
Coltman Farms Racing announced the split a week ago writing on Facebook, “Beginning in 2026, all Coltman Farms Racing teams will be based out of the team’s race shop in Maysville, Georgia. Tanner Engish, who has been operating the team’s No. 96 entry out of his own shop located in Benton, Illinois, has chosen not to relocate.”
Now, Justin Fiedler aka Dirtrackr shared on his daily show yesterday that Luke Morey is circling the ride. “One possible name that I’ve heard that could be a candidate for the open seat at Coltman is Luke Morey. Morey had sponsorship from Coltman Farms this year and picked up a win at Tyler County during their Country Roads weekend in August.”
According to My Race Pass, Morey had just the lone win on the season at Tyler County. In 35 features, he also had 9 top 5s and 14 top 10s. A couple of his top 5s came at Xtreme Speedway in June where he posted 2nd and 3rd place finishes at the beginning of the month. He had a 4th place finish at Beckley with the Southern Nationals in the middle of July and had a 2nd at Tyler County in August ahead of the Country Roads prelim win at the end of the month. He finished 7th in main event.
With the World of Outlaws this past year he made one feature at Swainsboro in March where he finished 25th.
It is likely whoever does replace English will compete in a national tour. Coltman Farms Racing announced that when it revealed that Donald McIntosh would replace Zack Mitchell at the end of November. The team shared in a press release on Facebook, “Plans are currently being made for McIntosh and English to each compete at the national level in 2026.”
