Mike Hurley has confirmed he and his wife Becky are in active talks to purchase Beckley Motor Speedway, but nothing has been finalized yet.
On Monday, it was reported by Dirt Behind The Scenes that Mike and Becky Hurley had purchased Beckley Motor Speedway. The outlet stated, “I’m hearing from very reliable sources that Beckley Motor Speedway has been sold, with the reported buyers being Mike & Becky Hurley.”
“Now, to be clear and transparent: I do not know if paperwork has officially been signed yet. However, everything I’m hearing points to a deal being in place for Mike and Becky Hurley to take over ownership of Beckley Motor Speedway,” he added. “This is something that’s been rumored for quite some time, and from what I understand, it’s also something Mike has been working on behind the scenes for a while.”
Following this report, the Hurleys confirmed they are in discussions to purchase the track. They shared on Facebook, “Mike and Becky Hurley are currently in discussions with the current owner of the facility regarding a potential purchase of the speedway.”
“While talks are ongoing and the interest is very real, no agreements have been finalized at this time. Out of respect for everyone involved, we will continue these conversations privately and professionally,” he added. “Beckley Speedway holds a special place in our dirt racing lives, as becky and I both grew up there , and we are excited about what the future could hold. We promise to keep everyone updated as things develop.”
Following this, current track owner Randy Kinder announced that he has not sold the track, but also confirmed that an offer had been made.
He wrote, “No, the racetrack has not been sold. Yes, there was an offer, nothing more. Any official news will come from me.”
