Nick Hoffman is getting prepared for the 2026 season and he shared that one of his top priorities is winning a crown jewel race.

Hoffman informed Spence Smithback at WorldofOutlaws.com, “It’s probably one of my main priorities. Nowadays, there’s eight or 10 of them in the country, and I feel like we can win any of them now.”

“There was a couple of them that, if you asked me a year ago or two years ago, I’d be like, ‘Yeah, there’s probably no shot we’ll win that.’ But now, being as good as we’ve been at Eldora [Speedway], Fairbury [Speedway]. For instance, I’ve won a lot of Mod races [at Fairbury], but never figured I’d be great there, especially in a Late Model. It’s just not my style of racing, but I’ve been up front both years there,” he continued. “It’s very difficult to win those races, but I feel like we’ve been really close and knocking on the door. Just need a couple things to go our way to actually get it done.”

Hoffman looked to have captured a crown jewel back in 2024 during the Prairie Dirt Classic, but instead of celebrating, he left heartbroken after Bobby Pierce passed him on the back stretch of the final lap of the race.

This past year he podiumed multiple times at Eldora. He finished third at The Dream after coming from 20th. He matched that result later in the year at the World 100. He finished fourth in the Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury. He also finished fourth at Cedar Lake Speedway for the USA Nationals.

Outside of winning a crown jewel, another priority for Hoffman is finding a new crew guy. Hoffman announced on Facebook that he and his Tye Twarog Racing team were looking for “a motivated crew member” to help with “normal week-to-week operations, including cleaning the race car, cleaning the hauler, performing maintenance, and doing normal mechanic-type work. If you can fabricate, that’s a plus, and if you can drive the rig, that’s an even bigger plus.”

He reiterated this need to Smithback telling him, “I’ve got to get more crew guys and more crew help, that would help our program. But crew guys are the toughest thing to find right now.”

While he needs more crew guys, Hoffman did share he feels his equipment is in good shape for the next season, “You can never be prepared enough, I guess. We have one car sitting here completely ready that’s in pretty good shape, and we’re building new cars too right now. I feel like our stuff’s in decent shape, but you can never be prepared enough.”
