Ricky Thornton Jr. and his team shared a sneak peek inside his new race shop in Iowa that he recently built.

Thornton and his team have been sharing updates on the shop and shared on social media that it has finally been completed with a number of photos giving fans a glimpse inside.

Back in July, the team shared that D and E Outside Services was clearing trees from his property to make space for the shop, “This is where our race shop will eventually be. We don’t plan to move the team out of the Koehler shop in North Carolina, but it’ll give us a good second base when we are already racing in the Midwest!”

In September, Thornton’s team shared a new update and revealed that ground had broken with Ganoe Excavating moving dirt and Graystone Companies looking to start building.

At the end of October, construction was well underway with the team sharing, “Our shop is really starting to take shape! They just started framing on Tuesday.”

Now, the shop has been completed with the team stating, “After a career of racing out of residential garages, (and some beautiful shops of others) Ricky finally has his very own personal race shop. A true dream come true.”

“Graystone Companies – thank you Troy for the time you put into this project. Deadlines & expectations were heavily exceeded! If you’re looking to build anything in the Des Moines metro, Graystone Companies is what you’re looking for! Thank you to Ganoe Excavating, Inc. for the dirt work, D and E Outside Services for the tree removal, and Matt Allen for the floor finish!”

The team then reiterated that it will continue to compete out of the Koehler shop in North Carolina, but will use this new shop when they head to the Midwest, “Our Koehler Motorsports team will continue to race out of their Mount Airy, NC shop, but our Iowa shop will be a frequent stopping point throughout the summer!”

Here are some of the photos that were shared of the finished shop:

Thornton will next be in action this week for the Tulsa Shootout. He’s competing in four of the six divisions: Sawyer Chassis Winged Outlawed, Hyper Racing Non-Wing Outlaw, JST Motorsports Winged A-Class, and Joe’s Racing Products Stock Non-Wing.

He is also planning to compete in the Chili Bowl Nationals and also has the Wild West Shootout on his schedule.
