Todd Cooney Racing announced that Ryan Gustin will return to compete with the team and they will chase the World of Outlaws in 2026.
In a post to Facebook, the team shared, “We’re excited to have Ryan Gustin back behind the wheel of the No. 19R once again, and we’re proud to announce that we’ll be following the World of Outlaws Late Model Series again in 2026. You can catch every race live on DIRTVision throughout the season.”
The team won’t just be chasing the Outlaws, it added, “In addition to the Outlaw schedule, we’ll also be competing in select marquee events along the way, and we’re looking forward to another hard-fought, exciting year on dirt.”
The announcement is not surprising as Cooney made it clear he approved of the Outlaws going head-to-head with Lucas Oil during Speedweeks after the Outlaws announced that the Swamp Cabbage 100 would take place at Hendry County Motorsports on February 20th and 21st the same days that Lucas Oil will kick off its season at All-Tech Raceway.
Cooney wrote on Facebook, “it makes perfect sense because of the travel money and everything.”
He explained, “Like the last few years Lucas guys can come in and run speed weeks and take the travel money when that’s meant for people that’s going to run the whole series. It shouldn’t affect the car count very much maybe four or five cars all that would be at the Lucas shows anyways.”
“This is something that should’ve been done a long time ago and it’s only two nights and they can go right back on the Lucas tour if they want to,” he concluded.

Cooney and Gustin have been a solid pairing finishing third in the Outlaws this past year with 5 wins 14 top 5s and 27 top 10s in 43 starts. His five wins came at Volusia Speedway Park, Swainsboro Raceway, Wilmot Raceway, the prestigious USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway, and Boothill Speedway. Gustin added wins at Davenport, Moberly Motorsports Park, and an A Mod win at 81 Speedway outside of the Outlaws.
In 2024, the team finished 6th with the Outlaws. They had 5 wins, 19 top 5s and 25 top 10s in 41 starts. In 2023, Gustin finished 7th with 3 wins, 12 top 5s, and 22 top 10s in 38 starts.
Todd Cooney Racing and Ryan Gustin join Trey Mills, Tristan Chamberlain, Jake Timm, Dennis Erb Jr., Nick Hoffman, and Bobby Pierce as drivers and teams committed to the Outlaws in 2026. Logan Zarin will also reportedly compete for Rookie of the Year with the Outlaws as well.
