Bobby McCarty announced he is starting his own team for the 2025 season after parting ways with R&S Race Cars.
McCarty made the announcement on Facebook. He wrote, “I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my own team, McCarty Motorsports! After years of hard work and dedication in the racing world, it’s time to take the next step and build something from the ground up.”
“This has been a dream of mine, and I can’t wait to hit the track with a team that shares my passion for excellence and competition,” he continued. “Big things are ahead as we prepare for the 2025 season, and I’m beyond excited for what’s to come. Stay tuned for more updates – we’re just getting started!”
As mentioned above, McCarty’s announcement comes after he split ways with R&S Race Cars.
McCarty announced his departure in a post to Facebook, “After a significant chapter in my racing career, I am announcing my departure from R&S Racecars. I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at R&S for their hard work, dedication, and commitment. The experience and friendships formed with the team are something I will always value.”
McCarty added, “This decision does not signal the end of my racing journey. In fact, my career is far from over, and I am already gearing up for what’s to come in 2025. The future holds new opportunities, and I can’t wait to get back on track and continue pursuing my passion for racing.”
“Thank you to all my supporters for standing by me, and I look forward to exciting times ahead,” he concluded.
R&S Race Cars co-owner Marcus Richmond indicated that McCarty’s departure has do with funding the team.
He wrote on Facebook, “I want to thank Bobby McCarty myself he has been more than just a driver to me and my family. Unfortunately funding these late models has become hard in the last year. I wish nothing but the best of luck in his career.”
McCarty finished the CARS Tour 8tn in points after only racing in 13 of the 16 races on the schedule. He nabbed two poles, secured one win at New River All-American Speedway, had 3 Top 5s, and 7 Top 10s, but suffered 4 DNFs.
He previously won the CARS Tour in 2018, 2019, and 2021. He finished 4th in 2023 and 7th in 2022.
