Earlier this month Jonathan Davenport shared that he would not be chasing the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule, but would instead opt for a pick-and-choose schedule and also indicated he might race in different genres of racing.

In a post to Facebook, Davenport said, “It will be a little different for us not running a series full-time or competing for a Championship, but at the end of the day, we’re still trying to win every time we unload.”

“I am looking forward to being at my son Blane’s fishing tournaments more often and supporting him whenever I possibly can. I’ve always enjoyed going to new racetracks and might even be open to trying a different genre of racing,” he added.

FloRacing’s Kyle McFadden revealed that he spoke with Davenport about what those other genres of racing might be and he shared the details in an interview with Justin Fiedler aka Dirtrackr.

McFadden said, “He said has some offers to race a pavement late model. He maybe want to dabble in a dirt modified and a pavement modified too.”

“But that won’t be me,” he added. “It’ll just be like a one-off race, maybe twice. Don’t see it more than that for him.”

However, he added, “He told me like anything’s on the table. He kind of said that and posted that to put that out there to maybe get some feelers for him.”

It is unclear at this time where Davenport will show up to next. FloRacing’s Kevin Kovac reported earlier this month, “Georgia-Florida Speedweeks action isn’t even on Davenport’s agenda at the moment, though he might end up entering a few races.”

He did not show up to the first weekend of the World of Outlaws schedule at Volusia Speedway Park last weekend. However, he was watching the racing and commented on X, “Volusia Speedway Park, good lokin track all week. Some dam good racin.”

The track responded writing, “See you in February, Superman.”

Davenport’s schedule on his website indicates that he will next be in action at Ocala Speedway at the end of February with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from February 26-28. He’ll follow the tour as it heads to Golden Isles Speedway in March from the 4th to the 7th as well.
