The 50-lap Friday night feature got off to a slow start with a number of cautions bogging down the race. However, while the pace of the race was significantly slowed by the cautions Hedgecock, Dale McDowell, and Overton went back and forth for the top three spots during the various restarts.

One notable restart with 49 laps to saw Hedgecock get a monster run off of two and jet past McDowell for the lead like he was standing still.

After a caution for debris, which happened to be one of the Earnhardt Technology Restart flags, with 41 laps to go Overton mounted a challenge against Hedgecock, but Hedgecock was able to hold him off until a caution came out due to an accident involving Caden Mullinax and Vic Hill with 39 laps to.

Mullinax spun coming out of turn 2 and Hill launched over his nose into the air.

Following another caution involving John Ownbey with 33 laps to go, Hedgecock would sail off with the first decent green flag run, but Overton was able to close as Hedgeock caught the tail off the field and got caught up in lap traffic. With 20 laps to go Overton made his move for the lead. He went to the outside lane and and he and Hedgecock split Trey Mills going three wide coming out of turn four.

Coming out of turn 2, Overton performed a crossover going into turn 3 and completed the pass coming out of turn 4. Hedgecock attempted to dive to the bottom as Vic Hill and Larry Grube blocked Overton’s path. However, it would be to no avail as Overton was able to split the difference and put Grube behind him who held Hedgecock up for a number of laps.

After Hedgehock was able to make his way around Grube and Hill, he made a furious charge back to the front and was within a couple of car lengths with just 12 laps to go. In fact, a lap later Hedgecock was showing his nose underneath Overton coming out of turn 4 and the two were side by side through turns 1 and 2 and down the backstretch.

However, going into turn 3 Overton’s car had issues and Hedgecock was easily able to pass him with just 10 laps to go. A caution would come out and it was discovered that Overton had a right rear tire go flat. He would get it changed, but would have to go to the rear of the field and was unable to recover.

Hedgecock would lead the rest way and was unchallenged. Overton was able to salvage an eighth place finish and seemingly secured the Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series championship albeit giving up a few points to second place Ashton Winger who finished in fifth.

Stormy Scott finished second, Dale McDowell, who started on the pole finished third, and Kaede Loudy finished fourth.
