McKay Wenger shared new details about his upcoming race party fundraiser that will take place on Saturday, March 14th.

The event is aimed at getting Wenger back on track in May at Fairbury for the track’s season opener after his race shop and garage was burned down in November.

It was originally reported by Mark Earney that Wenger’s shop had burned down with a post to Facebook, “Please send Prayers to McKay Wenger and his family as they lost there whole racing program this evening in a tragic race shop fire!!”

Wenger spoke about the fire with DIrtonDirt.com’s Kevin Kovac in January, where he revealed he lost his car and much of his equipment. He shared, “I mean, you leave and go to work and everything is great, and you get a phone call and come home and everything you got is gone. It’s just freaking crazy.”

He added, “One of my friends called me that was in the area working, and he’s like, ‘I’m at your house. Your shop’s on fire.’ … I said, ‘You gotta get the race car out of there,’ and he said, ‘It’s too late already,’ and I think he was probably the first person there.”

When he got there, he shared, “It just looked like a nuclear bomb got dropped right on top of it. I mean there was nothing left of the entire place and there was nothing left of everything that was inside of it.”

As for the car, he shared, “It was just sitting on the two-post lift, every single thing melted off of it. It was a race-read car sitting there, and there was nothing left on it. The frame was sagging on the front and back because it got so hot. I mean, it melted everything off the car. My seat wasn’t even in there. It liquified everything.”

Wenger shared on Facebook earlier today information about his upcoming race party and fundraiser to get him back to track. Specifically, he noted that it is “to help fill the void financially from losing our equipment in a fire 3 months ago and are hoping to make the opener at FALS in MAY.”

The fundraiser begins with dinner at 5 PM on Saturday night. Dinner will last to 7 PM. The fundraiser will be a draw down, which is a reverse raffle where a pool of tickets are sold and then drawn one-by-one until one is left. The last remaining ticket wins the grand prize.

There will be 100 items part of the draw down on top of other activities such as a 50/50, square boards, and 2026 merchandise for sale. Additionally, they will be auctioning off draw down #s at 15 and 5 to go. There will also be an auction for front spoiler sponsorship for his 2026 season.

A ticket will cost $100. It includes dinner for 2, Busch Light, and a chance to win any of the $3750 in prize payouts. Kids 12 and under are free. The event takes place at Dos Fuentes Mexican Restaurant Event Center in Fairbury, Illinois.
