Nick Hoffman shared his thoughts on whether the big dirt series national tours, whether it be the World of Outlaws or the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, should compete on Sundays.

During the most recent episode of DirtVision’s Pit Bull, Hoffman was asked by his fellow host Hannah Newhouse, “We don’t have a lot of [Sunday programs] on the national tour level. We’ve got a lot of Thursday, Friday, Saturday weekends, but very rarely do we pack a Sunday in there. Are we missing opportunity here, Nick, by having Sundays on the schedule for races because it’s harder for race fans and drivers often to get to a Friday race versus a Sunday race?”

Hoffman answered, “I feel like that was definitely more old school type racing. I grew up, my dad racing. We ran Friday, Saturday, Sunday every single week in the St. Louis area. Haubstadt used to always race on Sundays. It seems like every part of the country had that race track that just primarily ran on Sundays. Yeah, I do feel like that’s another avenue to go. I wouldn’t mind racing Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I’m used to it racing Hell Tour. We got Mondays off.”

“There’s a lot of these race tracks throughout the years that have always raced on Sunday. I don’t think that’s the issue,” he continued. “A lot of times too, if we get rained out on Saturday. They did a great job this week by just moving that back to Sunday and making sure them guys got a night in. I would like to see more of that.”

“I think I would rather race on Sunday than Thursday, but that’s just me,” he concluded. “It’s Sunday funday. I mean you’re going to be dragging ass at work Monday anyways, you might as well have a race to talk about from Sunday.”
