High Limit Racing Series Cancels Friday Night Action At Kokomo Speedway Due To Rain

The High Limit Racing Series announced that its racing action scheduled for Friday, May 8th at Kokomo Speedway has been canceled due to rain.

In a press release, the series stated, “With overnight rain saturating the grounds and more precipitation forecasted throughout the day at Kokomo Speedway, Friday’s opening night of the Driven2SaveLives Bryan Clauson Hero Classic presented by Chili’s has been canceled.”

While racing action for tonight has been rained out, the plan is to race on Saturday. The series said, “Saturday’s finale, co-sanctioned by Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing and the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Valvoline, remains all systems go with sunshine, pristine 70 degree temperatures, and a near 40-car field of sprint cars expected at ‘Indiana’s Baddest Bullring.’”

Tanner Thorson enters this weekend in the points lead after a strong performance to start the year with 2 wins, 7 Top 5s, and 11 top 10s in 12 features. He has a 21 point lead over Aaron Reutzel who has 3 wins, 8 top 5s and 9 top 10s.

Defending champion Rico Abreu is just 40 points behind Thorson. He has 1 win, 4 top 5s and 10 top 10s. Givannia Scelzi is 51 points behind in fourth and Kerry Madsen sits in fifth 90 points out of the lead.

Previous winners at Kokomo with the High Limit Racing Series include Rico Abreu, who won last May. Tyler Courtney won in 2024 and Justin Peck won in August 2023.
