The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties held their ninth event of the 2026 campaign on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park and it was Sam Seawright who stole the show at the Wheel, Tennessee facility to secure his second career tour victory! Sam topped the 31-car field in both hot laps and time trials, which landed him the pole position for the start of the 40-lap main event. The Fort Payne, Alabama ace then got the holeshot to lead the first circuit before third-starting Jadon Frame went by to lead laps 2-4.

Seawright regained control from Frame with a slider on the fifth circuit and never looked back en route to capturing the $5,000 first place prize money. Jay Scott, who started fifth on the grid, climbed to second to finish an impressive runner-up – 2.074 seconds behind the winning Seawright. Eleventh-starting Todd Morrow blasted past eight competitors to round out the podium in third. Outside polesitter Kyle Strickler, who ran second briefly early in the contest, finished in the fourth spot, while seventeenth-starting Oakley Johns charged to grab the final position inside of the top five.

“I didn’t really know where to go there at the start of the race,” commented the winning Seawright in Duck River victory lane. “I naturally went to the top because I figured that is where I needed to be, but Jadon (Frame) went right by me on the bottom. So I had to get back up on it and get back by him on the bottom. I felt like I was killing too much time down there, but on the restarts, I felt like I was leaving the door open a lot entering on the top. I knew if I could back the corner up just enough that I could cross over if someone were to get beside me and slide me.”

Sam Seawright piloted a Brett Coltman-owned #16 Longhorn Chassis powered by a Clements Racing Engine with sponsorship in part from Coltman Farms Racing, Special Needs School of Gwinnett, Autism Awareness, Cove 2 Coast Marine, Lance Kittle Truck and Trailer Repair, J&R Excavating, MPM Marketing, VP Racing Fuels, and Bilstein Shocks.

A total of 31 competitors piled into the Duck River Raceway Park pit area to do battle in round nine of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties. Sam Seawright laid down the quickest lap in both MRP Fantasy Racing hot laps (12.604 seconds) and VP Racing Fuels qualifying (12.637 seconds). The top five in each qualifying group were locked into the 40-lap headliner, while Todd Morrow and Cruz Skinner emerged victorious in the pair of consolation races. Series provisionals were granted to Billy Franklin, Dillon Daves, and Kendall Franklin.

The SAS tour will take the next several weekends off before returning to action in a pair of Peach State showdowns on June 12-13. Up next will be a visit to Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, Georgia on that Friday night before the series travels to Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia on that Saturday evening. Tucker Anderson will bring the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series point lead into the doubleheader weekend with Billy Franklin, Kendall Franklin, Dillon Daves, and Will Hicks completing the top five in the latest point tally.
