The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series announced that it canceled its West Virginia tripleheader scheduled for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
The series planned to compete at Elkins Speedway, Tyler County Speedway and West Virginia Motor Speedway, but those races have been canceled. In a press release, the series shared, “The decision was made jointly by the series and all three track promoters with the safety of race teams, fans, and staff as the top priority, along with the goal of avoiding unnecessary travel expenses and complications for teams facing unfavorable weather across the region.”
None of the races will be rescheduled as part of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series schedule, but “all three tracks are working on alternate plans to potentially reschedule their events at a later date.”
West Virginia Motor Speedway added in a post to Facebook, “With significant rain in the forecast throughout the remainder of the week and into the weekend, as well as rising cost of diesel fuel, it was determined that this decision was in the best interest of all parties involved, including race teams, fans, officials, and track personnel.”
As The Hunt the Front press release noted, the track shared, that it “will continue evaluating the possibility of rescheduling the Mountaineer Nationals at a later date, with details to be announced.”
The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series won’t be in action until June 12th and 13th when it heads to Magnolia Motor Speedway. Friday night will be an $8,000 to-win race while Saturday will be for $12,000.
