The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP would kick off the 2026 Memorial Day weekend at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich. on Friday evening for the Dirt Rumble and Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas would collect the $10,000 payday in his first-ever visit to the Lake Odessa, Mich. track while also collecting his third-career series victory. Erb also became the sixth different winner in six series events this season on the tour joining Caiden Black, Drake Troutman, Jerry Bowersock, Kyle Moore and Tyler Carpenter on the win list.
Erb visited Domination Race Cars while driving the Best Performance Motorsports-Rocket Chassis. His sponsors include Langenfelder Mechanical, H & R Apiaries / Roberts Bee Company, First Class Septic, Anthony’s Pizza, JRR Trucking Service, Integra Shocks, Keyser Manufacturing, Curtis & Son Companies, Dynamic Drivelines, Simpson Race Products, Sani Weld Inc., Midwest Sheet Metal Company, Performance Bodies, Wilwood Racing, DirtCar Lifts, Multi-Fire Plug Wires, Sunoco, Gorsuch Performance Solutions, Go Lithium, Powermaster, JC’s Race Parts, KBC Graphix, Strange Oval, Swift Springs, Willy’s Carb & Dyno Shop, Superior Bearing & Supply, DMI Bulldog Rearends & Hellraizer Jacks.
Polesitter Rusty Schlenk and Tyler Erb brought the field to life for the start of the 40-lap Valvoline main event with Erb setting the pace early. By the tenth lap, Erb would still hold the point with Schlenk in second, Devin Shiels third and Chase Burda holding fourth. By lap-16, eighth starting Ashton Winger had marched from his eighth-place starting position to take second spot away from Schlenk. At the halfway mark, Erb was the leader over Winger, Schlenk, Brandon Thirlby and Trey Mills. That would be the way they would finish the race.
Four Deatherage Racing Opticians caution flags slowed the event. The first caution came on lap three as Rylee Knoll and Dusty Moore got caught together in turn two with Knoll eventually stopping. On lap four, Colin Shipley slowed in turn three with damage while Jeff Erickson Jr. also had a right-rear flat tire. The third caution came on lap 15 as debris was sitting on the front-stretch. The final caution flew on lap 34 as Miles Cook II slowed on the front-chute with a flat tire.

The next events for the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP will be on Saturday May 23 at Butler Motor Speedway in Butler, MI and Sunday May 24 at Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, MI. Both events will pay $10,000 to win.
