Dirt late model driver Myles Moos, who is a regular at Fairbury, and looked to be a top challenger at the Gateway Dirt Nationals explained why he didn’t lampoon Derek Fisher after he was wrecked during a qualifier race on Saturday night.

Moos took the lead in his qualifier with an excellent slider on Fisher, but when they got to the next corner, Fisher attempted to return the favor, but instead hip checked Moos into the wall and demolished his car.

After exiting his car, Moos told FloRacing, “I don’t know. I mean. I don’t know. It sucks, man. I’ve had this car for a long time and I hate to see it go like that. I guess I should have expected a slide job right there. I didn’t hear him. I didn’t see him and then all of a sudden he’s on my nose. So I don’t know. It sucks that it ended like this. We had a really good. And it’s just unfortunate.”

However, he was much more pointed on X following the race writing, “Junked by some idiot who has to use a booster seat.”

In a post to Facebook, Moos explained why he was measured while talking to FloRacing, “Everyone who truly knows me, knows I wear my heart on my sleeve. I pour every extra ounce of energy I have into our race team, and try and help as many people as possible when I have the opportunity. I had a lot of people ask why I didn’t say what was truly on my mind or retaliate against him.”

“The truth is, I’m raising my two daughters to be respectful of everyone, no matter what the situation is,” he elaborated. “Not only that, what message would that have sent to all the kids in the stands or watching on FloRacing. Nothing. I decided to take the high road.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to rip his air cleaner off and throw it into the stands. No matter what, I know how much time and money it takes to get to this event, and because someone made a mistake I didn’t feel it was right to take his chances away,” he concluded.

While Moos’ car is junked, he is auctioning off a door panel to soften the blow.
