Ricky Thornton Jr. provided huge new details about his plans for 2025 including a confirmation that he will compete in a national tour albeit he and Koehler Motorsports have not decided which one one yet.

In a post to Facebook, Thornton’s social media manager revealed, “Our Koehler Motorsports team has not made a decision as to which national tour we will race this year, though we will definitely compete on a full tour.”

As for the Chili Bowl, Thornton plans to compete in it with Andy Reinbold of AME. However, the week of the Chili Bowl is also the beginning of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Nevertheless, Thornton plans to compete in both.

The Facebook post explained, “Ricky will race his prelim Tuesday at Chili Bowl, then fly to Golden Isles to race the late model Wednesday- Friday and both teams will make a decision as to where he will be on Saturday depending on results.”

“It’s really special to be involved with two owners who are willing and excited for Ricky to have this opportunity,” the post added.

Thornton will also compete in the Tulsa Shootout and has no plans to compete at the Wild West Shootout in Vado, New Mexico. The two events overlap with the Tulsa Shootout taking place between December 30th and January 4th and the Wild West Shootout happening from January 3rd to January 12th. Thornton will be racing in all four divisions of the Tulsa Shootout.

The post shared, “He’s been working on building two new Ten- J micros, and will race for Bernie & Betsy with Indy Race Parts in the wing outlaw division. The dates for the Shootout are December 31st- January 4th & streaming will be available on Flo Racing.”

What do you make of Thornton’s upcoming schedule and the fact he has not decided on whether he will race the World of Outlaws or Lucas Oil in 2025?
