Connor Hall will return to CARS Tour competition as it heads to Langley Speedway for the Visit Hampton Virginia 125.

Hall is among 31 entries expected to compete in the race. He spoke to the CARS Tour about his return, “We went to those first two Langley races to make sure old faithful was still old faithful. Everything seemed to be status quo, so it was kind of a no-brainer to take an off weekend and make it not an off weekend by entering the CARS Tour race. [Barry] Nelson helped make this possible, so here we are.”

Hall won both features on May 9th at the track besting Danny Edwards and Greg Edwards in the first feature and then Mark Wertz and Donovan Edwards in the second feature. He repeated the performance a week later on May 16th besting Danny Edwards and Woody Howard in the first feature and then Ryan Matthews and Ayden Millette in the second feature.

“Winning a CARS Tour race in general is really cool,” Hall added. “It’s an amazing short track series with a ton of exposure and stiff competition. I aspire to be one of the best Late Model Stock Car drivers to ever do it and if you want to do that, you have to race the best competition. I’m looking forward to [going up] against the best of the best [on Saturday].”

While Hall hasn’t competed as a driver in the CARS Tour this year after finishing second in the standings last year piloting the JR Motorsports entry, Hall has been working with Niece Motorsports and their driver Matthew Gould to build up the team’s LMSC program. Hall also had the opportunity to jump in one of Niece’s NASCAR Craftsman Trucks when the series competed at Rockingham at the beginning of April. He started in 27th and finished 20th.

As Hall noted, he’ll be competing for Barry Nelson in his #12 car this weekend at Langley. Hall competed with Nelson for a full CARS Tour season back in 2024 and got his first win with team at Langley. The team finished second in the championship battle to Hall’s rival Brenden “Butterbean” Queen.

He also shared on Facebook, “Heard it was race week… Smurf vs The CARS Tour this weekend at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway but with a twist! Excited to get back to the tour this weekend. Ready to have some fun and see if we can’t find Cook Out Victory Lane one more time!”

Hall won’t be the only local to compete with the CARS Tour, Tour regular Chase Burrow, who is currently fourth in points, will be looking to defend his title from last year.

“[Winning at Langley] meant everything,” Burrow said. “The [CARS] Tour is so tough, so competitive and so hard to win in. When you finally do [win], it’s such a huge deal. I call Langley home, so to be able to get the first win there was pretty cool.”

“We need to go [to Langley] and do our job,” Burrow added. “[If we can] focus on the track and our car, I think we’ll be fine. You have to race the racetrack and not [other] cars, that’s the biggest thing I’ve learned there. If I could get [Hettinger Racing] their first [win] would be pretty cool to be honest.”

Burrow has already won twice at Langley earlier this year. He won during the track’s opening night on April 4th besting Woody Howard and Greg Edwards. He followed that up with another win on April 18th beating out Woody Howard and Cole Bruce.

Other locals competing in the race will be Matt Waltz, Ryley Music, Atley Wiese, and Ayden Millette. Millette shared, “Besides the Hampton Heat, this is my biggest [race] for sure, but I’m feeling pretty confident. This is my home track, so I’ve got a little bit of an advantage there, but I know there’s a lot of talent. It’s going to be tough for sure, but I’m excited.”

As for his plan, he shared, “Hopefully we can get a good qualifying [run], ride, save my tires and just be there at the end. My goal is a top 10, but a top five would be awesome. I know I’ll have the car to [win], but it’s all about me driving it.”
