Russell Boothe, the owner of Duck River Raceway Park announced he is putting the Middle Tennessee race track up for sale.
In a post to Facebook, Boothe shared, “After nearly five years of pouring my heart, time, energy, and resources into Duck River Raceway Park, I believe it’s time to pass the torch to someone who shares the same passion for racing and the future of this facility.”
From there, he shared details about the track and the property it sits on, “Sitting on approximately 40 acres in the heart of Middle Tennessee, Duck River Raceway Park is a fully operational racing facility that is currently thriving. The track has strong car counts, solid fan support, and everything in place to continue operating from day one.”
“Over the past five years, we’ve invested heavily into the property and infrastructure. The hard work has been done. From facility improvements and equipment upgrades to pit area enhancements and operational systems, this track is set up for success,” he continued. “All equipment necessary to operate the facility has been maintained and cared for and will go with the sale. What makes this opportunity special is that you’re not buying a racetrack that needs saving—you’re buying one that is already succeeding.”
Boothe does not plan on selling to any individual. He is looking for a buyer to continue the race track. He explained, “Duck River Raceway has become more than a business to me. It’s been a second home. The relationships built, memories made, and races we’ve hosted will always hold a special place in my heart. My hope is to find someone who will continue building on what we’ve created and carry Duck River Raceway forward for many years to come.”
“I also want to make one thing clear: I am not in a position where I have to sell. If I don’t find the right buyer—someone who shares the same vision and passion for this facility—I will continue moving forward with normal operations,” he declared. “Nothing changes. We will keep racing, keep improving, and keep doing what we’ve been doing. I’m simply exploring the opportunity to find the right person to carry the torch and continue what has been built here.”
He then encouraged any prospective buyers that are serious to send him a direct message.
The 1/4 mile dirt oval is located at 1100 Haskins Chapel Road in Lewisburg, Tennessee. It is about an hour south of Nashville and an hour north of Huntsville, Alabama. It opened its 2026 season with its Bring on the Thunder event that had the track’s 365 Super Late Model division as well as 602 late models among others. It also hosted the Ultimate Heart of Super Late Model Series on March 14th, where Tanner English took home the win. The track also hosted the Southern All Star Series on May 16th and was scheduled to have the Southern Nationals over Memorial Day weekend, but unfortunately it was rained out.
Later this year on July 31st and August 1st, the track will host the Deep Fried doubleheader for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series. The track also hosts the annual Gobbler race ahead of Thanksgiving.
The track originally opened as Duck River Speedway back in 1973 by Sam Pugh. Pugh owned and operated the track until 2012. It was purchased by Bob Harris and his wife Cathy in 2012 and renamed Duck River Raceway Park. They modernized the facility with new bathrooms and remodeling the concession stands. As Boothe noted, he and his wife have continued to upgrade the facility since they purchased it around 2021.
