Kennedale Speedway Park issued a statement regarding Chase Holland being disqualified by the American Crate Late Model Series on Saturday May 30th.

On Saturday night it appeared that Chase Holland had won the race, but Holland would share on Facebook that he was disqualified because his “crew came on the track to take a photo with me in victory lane after approval from [Kennedale Speedway Park] TRACK officials. The American Crate Late Model Series doesn’t allow crews in infield at any time so they DQ me. Series owner inherited win from it…”

In another post, Holland wrote, “Now that the dust has settled… We had a textbook weekend and I couldn’t be more thankful for this little dream team that was able to pick up TWO wins in Texas. I can’t thank the Mitchell family enough for letting us compete in the All Jacked Up #10 car.”

“There’s a lot that can be said about last night’s incident, but the only thing I want to say is KENNEDALE SPEEDWAY PARK treated us extremely well while at their facility and the American Crate Late Model Series is who made the decision to take our win away,” he added. “Thank you to all of our amazing marketing partners, family, and fans. We are excited to be back in the saddle of the Broadus Family owned super late model this coming weekend at Pine ridge.”

Holland has since edited the post and removed the comment about the track and the series.

Kennedale Speedway Park issued their statement on Sunday evening expressing their support for Holland, “It’s hard to imagine I would ever have to defend the track over something like this but here we go. First off I want to thank Chase Holland and his team for coming to race with us and congratulate him on his impressive performance last night, you would have thought he had raced at KSP his whole career. Great job !”

“We strive to help teams make memories in victory lane and you can’t recreate those emotions two hours later and to me this is the best part of racing, seeing a driver on top of a sprint car wing with his grandson or a mom in tears hugging her son on his first win, this is why pictures are so important to our sport because it’s not about the money it’s about the victory and memories saved,” the track continued. “We built a special walkway from the grandstands 5 years ago just to make it easy for the fans to get to victory lane and almost everyone used it Saturday night with the meet n greet on the front straightaway.”

“We was not made aware of him being DQ until the races were completely finished Saturday night when I was told about this I immediately called the series director and told him that we told the team members that it was ok to go take pictures in victory lane, this seemed to fall on deaf ears and I also expressed my displeasure in a few choice words,” the track relayed. “I feel like this is something they had to of know was going to happen because they have raced at KSP for years and knew we let fans come take pictures in victory lane after each feature, they should of made us aware it was not okay and myself and our staff would have not allowed them to cross the track.”

The track then said they had nothing to do with the distribution of winning outside of a lump sum given to the series, “For the ones who think the track had anything not do with not paying this young man is completely wrong we paid the full purse in one lump sum to the American Crate Late model series and they pay the drivers directly not us.”

“I called Chase Holland next and apologized to him and his team and he was completely professional and very respectful to me, I’m heartbroken for him and his team. I can only hope the series will do the right thing and pay him,” the track concluded.

StockCarReport.com reached out to the American Crate Late Model Series to get clarification on the disqualification, but did not hear back at the time of publication.
