STP Motorsports issued a statement addressing the future of the team and their involvement in 410 Sprint Car racing.
The team’s driver Bryce Lucius announced in a post on May 16th that he was stepping away from the team. He wrote on Facebook, “At this time I would like thank Tyson and Susan Oakman for the opportunity to run their car. I have decided to step away from it at this time but want to wish them the best in the future. I appreciate everything they have done. We are still deciding best path forward and will update when it is decided.”
The team also posted, “Effective immediately, STP Motorsports and Bryce Lucius Racing have parted ways. STP Motorsports sincerely appreciates Bryce for his time, dedication, and commitment to the team. We are proud of what was accomplished together and value the successes we shared throughout our partnership. We wish Bryce continued success in his future endeavors both on and off the track.
“STP Motorsports is currently evaluating its future plans and will make an official announcement regarding the team’s next steps in the coming days,” it concluded.
Less than a week later, and it was announced by Curt Michael – Heffner Racing Enterprises South that Lucius would be competing with them.
At the beginning of this month, the STP Motorsports team put its 2001 53′ Featherlite Stacker Trailer up for sale for $219,000.
Now, the team has shared that the team plans “to focus on supporting young talent with tremendous talent who actually need the support to chase their dreams of being Professional Sprint Car Races.”
“You will see eriodically on cars for the remainder of 2026. We have some pretty cools things working. While we continue to evaluate who we want to partner with full time in 2027, we are going to continue being Super Fans, evaluating where we end up in 2027,” the team added. “Beginning tonight, you will see [us] be a part of Darin Naida Racing racing with the High Limit Racing.”
Furthermore, they shared they will continue to support Bryce Lucius, “Bryce Lucius Racing and I have remained in contact as well. My wife and I have made the decision to continue to [support] Bryce into his Sprint adventure. At this time, we do not know what this will look like as we will continue to see how things unfold for him, stay in contact and decide how we can best support him.”
They concluded, “Thank you to everyone who has and will continue to Support STP Motorsports now and into the future!”
