Brody Smith aka the Slim Reaper announced that he is planning to make a second full season run with the Summer Nationals Hell Tour.

Smith made the announcement on Facebook, “And it was the night before 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬! Last year I made my super late model debut and ran my first full series ever. The Summer Nationals. It was the hardest thing I’ve done thus far with the long nights, tough competition, and a new track every night.”

“I didn’t know if I would come back after last year,” he continued. “So many times I didn’t make the show and would get down on myself just to remember you have another race tomorrow. It made me a better driver, carry a better mindset, and work just as hard or harder than the next guy.”

“Its gonna feel different without my brother or Eli running with me but I know this team has what it takes. We finished 9th overall in points last year and made 8 shows out of the entire tour. We have some work to do because this year we want to win,” he said. “We start tomorrow here at Brownstown Bullring hoping the weather holds off for a great night of racing.”

So far in 2026, Smith has started in fourth features and gotten 1 Top 5 and 3 Top 10s. That top 5 came at an Ultimate Super Late Model show at Blackwater Speedway in the middle of March, where he finished 3rd. He’d finish 6th the next night at the track. His other Top 10 came at Needmore Speedway with the Southern Thunder series in the middle of May, where he finished 6th as well.

As for last year with the Summer Nationals, as he said, he made 8 starts. Those 8 starts came at Farmer City Raceway, Benton Speedway, Spoon River Speedway, Red Hill Raceway, Duck River Raceway Park, Shadyhill Speedway, Montpelier Motor Speedway, and Oakshade Raceway. His best finish was 13th. He finished there at three times at Spoon River, Shadyhill, and Oakshade.
